1928 Cadillac V-8 “Al Capone” Town Sedan

Al Capone’s Caddy will be going up for auction on July 28 and is expected to rake in about $500,000. The car is one of the first armored vehicles ever developed and has thorough documentation that proves this did in fact belong to “Scarface” himself. The Cadillac is a Series 341-A that possesses a 341 cubic inch L-head V-8 engine that is capable of producing roughly 90 horsepower. It comes equipped with a three-speed manual transmission, beam front axle and full-floating rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. However, the most fascinating features are the one-inch thick glass and 3,000 pounds of asbestos-wrapped steel with embedded lead armoring that encase the vehicle. The Cadillac also has a rear window that is capable of dropping down in order to access and operate a machine gun port–now that’s dapper!
