West Coasting Rides: 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible

The 1962 Chevrolet Impala is the first model that featured the all new “C” pillar styling that is now considered to be the trademark look for the Impala, thus making the 62-64 models the most sought-after by car enthusiasts worldwide. This was also the first Impala that swapped the old 348-cubic-inch motor for the highly-popular “409” that even inspired The Beach Boys to produce the hit single that became iconic for these cars. The 1962 Impala was just as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside with premium interior appointments, plusher seats, and tons of chrome styling. At the time, this vehicle was Chevrolet’s top-of-the-line model and sold between a price range of $2,000 and $3,000.
