Must-See Movies Of 2012

This year is set to have plenty of action-packed movies and here are a list of some of the must-see flicks.

Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale star in this movie about a legendary ex-drug smuggler that must return to a life of crime to help his brother-in-law get out of trouble with the wrong people. Wahlberg movies are consistent hits and this one does not seem to be any different. This movie is set for release on 1/13/12.

Kate Beckinsale is back again to revive her role as the famous vampire Selene. This time, an all-out war between the Lycans and Vampires is set to happen to see which race will exterminate the other first. This movie is set for release on 1/27/12.

Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks star in this action-packed thriller about an ex-cop that is now a wanted fugitive who happens to be standing on a ledge of a building and is attempting to jump off. What Elizabeth Banks does not know is that he has something else up his sleeve. This movie has a release date of 1/27/12.

This movie is being re-released in 3-D. The Phantom Menace is about the transformation of Anakin Skywalker to the famous villain known to all of us as Darth Vader. Release date TBD.

Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds star in this action-packed thriller about a rogue CIA agent who went on the run for over a decade. Washington is one of the best actors ever and Reynolds is an up and coming action star. These two deliver a nice one-two punch!. Safe House is set to be released 2/10/12.

Nicolas Cage is back as the famous Ghost Rider in the sequel of the 2007 hit. This time around there is more action and bigger special effects–it looks like a winner. Release date TBD.

Not many details are known about this movie other than it looks great! This movie seems to be about an alien race and the beginning of the human race. This movie looks to be a mysterious thriller. Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, and Charlize Theron star in this movie that is set to be released on 3/9/12.

This movie is supposed to take place on a strange, mysterious, exotic planet. The John Carter story is based on the classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs and seems like a mix between Star Wars and Avatar. The special effects look amazing in this movie and the action seems non-stop. Release date is 3/9/12.

Sam Worthington is back again to reprise his role as Perseus. The first movie, Clash of the Titans, did not live up to expectations, but they seem to have got it right this time around. This time Perseus is set to battle the legendary Titans. Release date is set for 3/20/2012.

Yes, the crazy antics are back in a fifth installment of the whacky series. Anna Faris and Regina Hall are some of the actors set to return in Scary Movie 5 and more details are set to come. Release date on 4/20/12. 4/20? Really?

Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawkeye team up for the star-studded action picture. These seven super heroes join forces to form one team called The Avengers and combat against the evil foe, Loki. The release date for this film is 5/4/12.

Agent K and Agent J are back again for a third installment to the famous MIB series. This movie will be in 3-D and is scheduled to be released on 5/25/12.

This Spider-Man will be totally revamped. New actors, new villains, new everything. This Spider-Man is nothing like your Tobey Maguire version and will be much darker and grittier. Release date set for 7/3/12.

This will be the last installment of the Christopher Nolan franchise of Batman. This time, Batman (Christian Bale) will battle against Bane (Tom Hardy) in the epic conclusion of this thriller. In theaters 7/20/12.

This will be a two-part prequel to The Lord of the Rings franchise and will explain the origin of the precious ring. This is a must-see. Release date on 12/14/12.

Another Superhero flick that is being revamped. Not much is known about this film, but it is set for a 12/31/12 release date. Hopefully this movie will be much better than the last Superman movie.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

This the second installment to the G.I. Joe franchise, but this one has been revamped. This time, joining the fun is Bruce Willis and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. This movie looks much better than the first one because it has fewer silly characters and more serious action. A lot of us grew up watching G.I. Joe as kids and some of us were a little disappointed with the first installment to this franchise. Director Jon M. Chu seems to hit it on the dot with this action-packed thriller.

This movie is modled after the classic board game of the same name. This flick looks great and has the feeling of a Transformers movie. Battleship seems to be action-packed with a cast of Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Kitsch, and Dapper Dames 2012 candidates Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker. Make this one of your must-see movies of 2012.

Resident Evil: Retribution

Alice (Mila Jovovich) is back again in another apocalyptic film following the highly successful PlayStation game, Resident Evil. This film looks like the best one so far and is the fifth installment of the franchise. Resident Evil is  arguably the best video game adaptation to go from a video game to a live-action motion picture.

Casa De Mi Padre

He’s back. Who? Will Ferrell, that’s who. The funny guy is back in Casa De Mi Padre where Ferrell, as Armando Alvarez, plots to save his father’s ranch. If this movie is anything like Ferrell’s movies of the past, this will be an instant classic.

American Reunion

Add another movie to the franchise of American Pie. This movie is about the ten-year reunion of the high school buddies–with adult issues. This seems like it has non-stop laughter like the other American Pie films.

Jack The Giant Killer

This movie is about Jack and the Bean stalk–a classic children’s story turned into a visually stunning motion picture. However, this movie isn’t made for kids–it’s for the guys!

The Expendables 2

Every action hero we grew up watching, and I mean every single one of them, is in The Expendables 2–they left out no one. When you see this movie, you will laugh at all the aging action heroes packed in to one movie. However, the action in this movie looks insane and guys like insane action. Check this one out!
