How Do I Keep Up With My Wardrobe?

We tend to have a hard time throwing out our old clothes and buying new clothes. Let me give you a few simple tips to keep your wardrobe up to date and looking dapper.

A vital thing we all must do is to get rid of the clothes that we have not worn in the last six months. If you haven’t worn certain clothing items in the last six months, more than likely you will not wear them again. This does not apply to everything in your wardrobe. Items like ties, overcoats, dress shirts and blazers will always have a place in your closet. This strictly applies to the clothes that you are not wearing anymore.

When you rid yourself of these items I do not recommend you throw them away. You should donate them instead to places like Goodwill or Salvation Army. There are a lot of under-privileged people in this world that would love your hand-me-downs. One man’s loss is another man’s gain.

Once these clothes are gone and out of your closet it is now time to revamp your wardrobe. I recommend you buy several new clothing items according to the upcoming season that is approaching. For example, if summer ois a few months away, invest in a couple nice pairs of shorts. When spring time is near, look around for some nice khakis. By following this method you will always keep your wardrobe up to date.

A John Dapper man doesn’t worry about the new styles or what’s in or out this year–he only believes in being dapper. This can be plain and simple as long as it’s neat and trim. Keep your wardrobe dapper! You should always keep your wardrobe stocked with clothes that you will always look good in. Any faded sweaters, shirts with permanent stains, or jeans with holes in them have to go. Keep your closet full of clothes you can put on without hesitation so if your friends call you and ask you to go out, you are ready. You should be able to immediately go to your closet and pull out fresh looking clothes without worrying if they look good or not.

Having a dapper wardrobe is very important because it can take you a long way in this life. Keeping an up to date wardrobe should be a common goal every man should have. If you do not have one, it might be a good new year’s resolution to create one. Start your new year off right with a refreshing new wardrobe. Out with the old and in with the new, 2012 will be the year of the Dapper Man!
